About

Based in Merseyside, I work across the UK, including Liverpool and the North West, as a freelance senior PR and communications consultant. I focus on strategic planning, impactful media coverage, and integrated communications campaigns.

I have 15 years of communications experience, a decade of which was gained in London working for some of the UK's biggest brands, charities and PR agencies. I became the founder of Katy Davies PR and Media in 2016.

 

In 2023-24, I single-handedly secured over 300 pieces of coverage for my clients.

​

I am passionate about building impactful and consistent communications PR campaigns that meet individual or organisational needs and get people talking, thinking, feeling and acting. This is reflected in my relationship building skills with the media, stakeholders and partners on behalf of clients.

During my career, I have led award-winning PR campaigns at integrated communications agencies, acted as Head of Comms for a membership organisation and provided senior campaign and media consultancy to national charities and a sports governing body.

 

I achieved a distinction in the CIPR's advanced PR certificate and am a CIPR member. I am committed to professional development to reflect modern organisational challenges.

 

I have completed training in ESG communications with the PRCA, media law training with journalist David Banks and have an interest in researching behaviour change and its applications to communications in a changing media landscape. I bring this wider expertise to my work.

 

I've also undertaken specialist communications training on organisational cyber security data breaches (with training organised by the PR Cavalry) that quickly become PR issues and require a live step-by-step approach.
